• New Fire Chief Sworn in for Turkey Creek Fire Territory (inkfreenews.com) — Syracuse residents have a new fire chief, as Quinn Hunter was sworn in to lead the Turkey Creek Fire Territory while longtime chief Mickey Scott retired after 36 years of service. The township advisory board also approved 2026 salaries, reviewed insurance options, addressed cemetery fencing and ownership questions, and discussed damage at a local public boat access ramp.
