5 Iowa Lotto Tickets Were 1 Number Off From Mega Millions Jackpot

The ticketholders still won big, but they didn't take home the $1.337 billion Mega Millions jackpot.

IOWA — Five lottery tickets in Iowa were just one number shy of a Mega Millions jackpot win, according to KCRG. A player in Bettendorf won $2 million with five matching white balls, while players in Manchester, Newton, Storm Lake and Mount Pleasant won $10,000 with four matching white balls and the Mega Ball, KCRG reported.

The jackpot-winning Mega Millions ticket — worth a staggering $1.337 billion — was sold at a gas station in Des Plaines, Illinois. It is the second-largest prize in Mega Millions history. The largest, $1.537 billion, was won in October 2018 in South Carolina.
