Ames Bar Where Brawl Occurred Serving Liquor License Suspension

An Ames bar that was the host to a recent bar brawl that included the bar's owner getting attacked by a high-heeled shoe is currently being penalized.

A bar that played host to a recent bar brawl, in which the owner was attacked with a high-heeled shoe, is currently serving a seven-day liquor license suspension.

Davis Spirits, the owners of , the bar where the brawl occurred on Sunday, have been fighting with the City of Ames to keep its liquor license. In an agreement approved by the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division, Club Element has agreed to a seven-day suspension of its liquor license, which started at 6 a.m. today, March 6.

The City of Ames agreed to renew the bar's license for another six months. The club's suspension lasts through 6 a.m., March 13, according to documents on the Iowa Department of Commerce Alcoholic Beverages Division.
