Sheriff: Ames Driver Rear-ended By Ogden Man on a Cell Phone

An Ames semi driver was involved in a accident Tuesday in Story County.

An Ogden man was injured when he rear-ended a semi he was following on 550th Avenue about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to a report from the Story County Sheriff's Office.

Roman Malone was northbound on the county road and talking on a cell phone, according to the Story County Sheriff's Office. He was behind a semi tractor-trailer driven by Bryce Kemp of Ames. Kemp slowed to make a right turn when Malone rear-ended him, the report said.

Malone was taken to Mary Greeley Medical Center for non-incapacitating injuries and was also cited for following too closely, the report said. The accident was near 550th Avenue and 150th Street.
