Ames Jewish Congregation Will Observe Yom Kippur Tuesday

Yom Kippur the Jewish day of atonement begins at sunset Tuesday.

Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement begins at sundown Tuesday.

Both the Hillel Jewish organization at Iowa State and the Ames Jewish Congregation will attend services at the congregation's center at 3721 Calhoun St. The congregation is the only synagogue in Ames. This day is considered one of the most important Jewish holidays of the year and many usually take the day off work and fast as well.
