Ames Man Charged With Sex Abuse
An Ames man has been accused of abusing a young girl several years ago.

A 45-year-old Ames man was charged with second-degree sexual abuse and two counts of indecent contact with a child, for allegedly abusing a young girl in 2005 and 2006, the Ames Tribune reports.
Ames police arrested Gamaliel Gregorio Tuesday.
Second-degree sexual abuse is a Class B felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison and indecent contact with a child is an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by up to two years in prison.

The Tribune reported that police took a statement from a now 13-year-old girl who said she had been sexually abused by Gregorio seven to eight years ago.
Gregorio was being held in the Story County Jail Wednesday on a $20,000 bond.
