Ames Parks & Recreation Offers Tai Chi Class for Parkinsons
Parks & Recreation offers a Tai Chi class for people who have Parkinsons or limited mobility.

Searching for some peace and balance in your life?
Experience our new T’ai Chi For Persons with Parkinson’s or limited mobility. The slow, gentle movements of T’ai Chi Chuan have been shown to improve balance and mobility and can be done seated or standing (with or without an assistive device) or taking steps.

Emphasis in this class will be working at the participant’s comfort level. You are encouraged to take this class with a spouse or care-giver so the two of you can practice together.
The class will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Oct. 1 to Nov. 26 at Green Hills Wellness Center. No class will be held Oct. 15. Register at the Ames Parks & Recreation office at City Hall, 515 Clark Ave. For more information call 239-5350.
