Ames Police Report Seat Belt Survey Results
Study finds 9 percent of people fail to buckle up.

Wearing a seat belt is the law and it turns out that almost everyone in Ames follows that rule.
released results of a recent survey that showed 91 percent of people were wearing their seat belts, when observed during a recent traffic enforcement.
The Ames Police Department conducts two seat belt surveys a year with the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau grant. In March officers reported that 89 percent of people were wearing their seat belts and 91 percent of people were wearing their seat belts in August.
