Ames Weather: Thunder Showers Possible Through 4 p.m.

Today's gray skies should clear off about the time most Ames community school students have come home for the day.

The National Weather Service said that rain and thunderstorms were likely before 1 p.m. and between 1 and 4 p.m.

The National Weather Service forecast for the rest of the week follows below:

Tuesday Sunny, with a high near 64. Northwest wind 6 to 13 mph.

Tuesday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 44. West northwest wind around 7 mph becoming south after midnight.

Wednesday Mostly sunny, with a high near 79. Breezy, with a south wind 7 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Wednesday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 48.

Thursday Mostly sunny, with a high near 71.

Thursday Night A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50.
