Ames Weekend Weather

What the National Weather Service says we can expect from Mother Nature this weekend.

Ames should see highs in the 60s through Sunday, according to the latest report from the National Weather Service.

Rain showers are expected before 1 p.m. Friday and the high is expected to reach 66 degrees. 

Saturday a high of 61 is expected and frost is possible into Sunday morning. Sunday's high is expected to reach 63 degrees.

National Weather Service's full forecast follows below:

  • Today Isolated showers before 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 66. East northeast wind 7 to 9 mph becoming north northwest in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
  • Tonight Partly cloudy, with a low around 41. Light west northwest wind becoming north northwest 10 to 15 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph.
  • Saturday Sunny, with a high near 61. North northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.
  • Saturday Night Areas of frost after 4am. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 33. North northwest wind 3 to 7 mph.
  • Sunday Areas of frost before 7am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 63. Calm wind becoming northwest 5 to 8 mph in the morning.
  • Sunday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 39.
