Town Budget Meeting Set for Oct. 2

AMES, Iowa – The City of Ames will hold its annual Town Budget Meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, in the City Council Chambers, 515 Clark Ave.  This meeting is an opportunity to offer thoughts to City of Ames staff on budget issues such as the appropriate level of services for various City programs, the sources of revenue used to fund services, and the impact City services have on Ames neighborhoods and residents. 
  
This meeting is the first important step in the development of the City's 2013/2014 budget.  Comments and suggestions shared will serve as one of many sources of information for the Ames Mayor and City Council as they work together to form a financial/administrative plan for the City. 
  
The Town Budget Meeting is hosted by City staff and carried live on Cable Channel 12 and streaming on the City’s website atwww.cityofames.org.  Residents can call in with questions and comments during the meeting, which will be disseminated and discussed by participants.  The number to call is (515) 239-5214.   

Those unable to attend can send questions in advance to City Manager Steve Schainker at  sschainker@city.ames.ia.us or by U.S. Mail to the City Manager's Office, 515 Clark Ave., Ames, IA  50010.
