Columbus Day: What's Open, Closed in Ames

Columbus Day is on Monday, Oct. 8. Here's what's open and closed in Ames.

In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue and landed in the Bahamas discovering a world that was new to him anyway.

He actually intended to find a new route to China according to History.com, which has a full page dedicated to Columbus' journey and the federal Columbus holiday.

The federal holiday will observed Monday, but that won't affect the business day in Ames much.
