The Story County Amateur Radio Club is hosting a hidden transmitter hunt (e.g., “Fox Hunt”) on Sunday, August 12, from 3 pm to 5 pm in Ames. Registration and briefing will be in the parking lot west of Ames City Hall (behind the Ames Veteran’s Memorial, Grand Avenue and 5th Street). The “fox” will transmit on 146.430 MHz FM for two hours, with assistance provided, upon request, on the simplex frequency after 4 pm.
