For Sale? School Board Rejects Low Bid For Rental Home
The Ames School Board rejected a single low offer for a $100,000 district-owned home on Ninth Street.
A single low offer for the school district's home near Roosevelt Elementary School has left the board brainstorming for other ways to unload the property.
The Ames School Board rejected Monday a $58,000 offer for the home at 1013 Ninth St., according to a report in the Ames Tribune. The home is currently appraised at $99,900.
Board Member Luke Deardorff suggested asking a real estate agency to market the home. He is a member of the board's Real Estate Liquidation Advisory Committee and will meet with the committee before offering a new recommendation on how to proceed, according to the story.

The home was built in 1925 for a single-family and was later converted into a duplex, according to information provided by the City Assessor's office. It's 852 square feet with a full basement.
