Ames Mayor Ann Campbell and Story County Supervisors recently declared September as Recovery Month in the city of Ames.
The theme for this year’s Recovery Month is, “Join the Voices for Recovery: It’s worth it!”
The goal is to increase awareness of mental and substance use disorder prevention and treatment services and to encourage people to seek help for these health conditions. adolescent residential addiction treatment facilities include the Youth Recovery House and the Seven-12 House in Ames.

Youth & Shelter Services has treated a total of 4,111 youth from 98 Iowa counties since it started as Iowa’s first community-based residential youth chemical dependency treatment program. These Ames locations have also served 278 youth from Story County since opening.
