Recycled Plastics Company Wins Pappajohn Award
An affiliate of the Iowa State University Research Park won a $25,000 award recently.

An Ames-based company that converts recycled plastic bottles into sewer pipes won a $25,000 award that it will use for an expansion.
Representatives of r-Pipe told the Des Moines Register that the John Pappajohn Iowa Business Plan Award funds will be used to expand the manufacturing process. The company, an affiliate of the Iowa State University Research Park, turns recycled plastic bottles into concrete-based sewer pipes.
They were among 43 companies in the running for the award, according to a release from the Iowa Small Business Development Center.
