Somerset School Property Receives High Bid
The Ames Community School District will vote on whether to approve the bid after a public hearing is held.
Heartland Development LLC turned in the highest bid for an 11-acre parcel of property at an auction this morning.
Kurt Friedrich, representing Heartland, offered $425,000 for the district's property along GW Carver Avenue in the neighborhood.
Hunziker Land Development, represented by Chuck Winkleblack, and Vista Real Estate Investment Corp, represented by Justin Washburn, were also present and participated at the bid auction, according to a release from the school district.

The Ames Community School Board will be asked on Sept. 24 to set a hearing on the proposed sale.
