Watch ISU's Royce White Drafted to the Houston Rockets

White was drafted to the NBA after his sophomore year at Iowa State University a time in which he also became an advocate for anxiety disorders.

Royce White only spent a short time at before being drafted to the Houston Rockets last summer.

ISU took a chance on White who had some hard times at the and allowed him a spot on the team despite his generalized anxiety disorder. He played as a sophomore helping the Cyclones reach its first NCAA championship since 2005.

White allowed Grantland Network to video tape him during his most stressful moments waiting for his name to be called during the NBA draft. He was 16th.

His disorder is marked by panic attacks, which White describes as a surge of adrenaline that makes his mind race. Even though he knew everyone at the Sukup Basketball Complex was there to support him, he felt so uncomfortable that he waited in an office.

While in Iowa, White volunteered at the YMCA in Des Moines and spent time raising funds for Orchard Place a Des Moines organization that works with children who suffer from behavioral health and mental disorders.
