Ankeny Ready To Present 2040 Development Plan

City leaders have spent a year forming a plan to shape the city's future development and a draft will be shown at a Dec. 12 open house.

ANKENY, IA — A yearlong effort to develop a comprehensive plan outlining what Ankeny should look like in 2040 is in the draft stage and area residents are invited to an open house next month to offer input on the plan's components. The Ankeny Plan 2040 session will be 4 to 8 p.m. Dec. 12 at Otter Creek Golf Course in the Pinnacle Club.

City officials are looking for community feedback on the plan, which will guide future development and decision making in the city for more than two decades. Those who attend the open house will learn about different areas of focus that will help shape the city's future.

Educational stations will be set up to feature various plan components and give an in-depth look at recommendations within each area, including environment and parks and recreation; infrastructure and transportation; land use and economic development; and housing and community character.
