• Ankeny contractor sentenced for false bankruptcy statements (who13.com) — An Ankeny-based contractor has been sentenced to three years in prison after admitting to misleading customers and making false statements in a federal bankruptcy case. Prosecutors say he took deposits for home improvement work, failed to finish jobs, and then lied about his finances during bankruptcy proceedings. Authorities also noted he has prior convictions for similar conduct in Iowa.
