Ankeny City Manager finalists live as far away as Texas.
Four of six men vying to be the city's next manager live in other states.

Ankeny City Council selected six finalists for the manager position during a council meeting on Monday.
The council hopes to make the final choice in August after holding interviews 1 p.m. Aug. 6. Ankeny residents will be able to meet all candidates from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 5 at the Pinnacle Club at Otter Creek.
