Fire Destroys Homes, Leaves Families Homeless

Two trailer homes were lost to a fire overnight in Ankeny, according to multiple media outlets.

Firefighters from multiple departments were called to Summer Park drive about 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Eight people living in the homes at 2470 and 2480 were able to escape unharmed, but both homes and a garage were lost, according to a report in the Des Moines Register.

The American Red Cross assisted families at the scene, according to WOI.
