
Daniel Guy Johnston, 36, Crocker Township, was charged with second-degree burglary and violation of a no contact order on July 5 for allegedly breaking into a home of his ex-girlfriend, according to Ankeny police.
The home didn't belong to him and he knew that it was the home of a former girlfriend who had a protective order against him, police said.

The burglary charge is a Class C felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison. Johnston was being held Wednesday in the Polk County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
