George Tracy announces re-election campaign for Ankeny School Board

Ankeny School Board Member George Tracy has announced that he will seek a third term on the board.

Tracy was first elected in 2005.

“Much has been accomplished but there is much more that needs to be finalized as Ankeny goes to a multiple school system this fall,” Tracy said in his announcement.

Tracy's two children and a grandchild have graduated from the Ankeny School system and a second grandson will be in the first graduating class at Ankeny Centennial High School. Ankeny's second high school will open this fall.

“Our desire is that every student has the 'Ankeny Experience,'” Tracy said.

Tracy and his wife Pat have lived in Ankeny since 1967. Tracy is a retail account manager for Blue Bunny.

Pat Cahill, the board president, also recently announced she would seek re-election to the board in September.
