Youth Flag Football Registration Deadline Approaching

Time is running out to register for Youth Flag Football through Ankeny Parks and Recreation. The program is for children five years old or in kindergarten and a parent. 

 The league will begin on Saturday, August 3 through September 14. Teams will play at Hawkeye Park on Saturdays for six weeks with no games on Saturday, August 31 due to the holiday weekend.  Teams will be made up of six children and six adults and could potentially be coed. The adults on each team will be responsible for officiating the games. Volunteer coaches are needed for this program. A coaches meeting will be held prior to the start of the program. Register online at www.ankenyiowa.gov or call the Parks and Recreation Department at 963-3570. A parent/guardian must register with each child. The cost is $25 per parent/child (resident) and $30 per parent/child (non-resident) and the registration deadline is July 22.
