New Hartford Man Hospitalized After Cedar Falls Motorcycle Accident

A New Hartford man was hospitalized after his motorcycle collided with a van in Cedar Falls.

Police said Kelly Smith, 43, was driving eastbound on First Street at about 6:47 p.m. when he collided with a van driven by Donald Valenta, 80, of Traer.

Smith was taken to Sartori Hospital. Police said he was conscious at the hospital.

Cedar Falls police said Valenta turned in front of Smith's motorcycle. Valenta, who was uninjured, was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way upon a left turn.
