A Few Tornadoes? Frightful Cedar Falls Weekend Forecast, Canceled Events
"All modes of severe weather are possible... including a few tornadoes," according to the National Weather Service.

Halloween-themed weekend activities have been scared away by a frightful forecast.
According to the National Weather Service, Black Hawk County, along with a large chunk of central Iowa, is facing a stormy weekend. Scattered thunderstorms are expected to begin Friday evening and continue Saturday, with the possibility for severe storms with damaging wind and large hail.
"All modes of severe weather are possible... including damaging winds... large hail and a few tornadoes," the Weather Service report said.

However, Cedar Falls may be spared the worst. The most likely areas to see severe storms are south of Highway 20, according to the weather alert.

In reaction to the oncoming storms, a College Hill Zombie Walk, put on by Mohair Pear to raise money for the Cedar Bend Human Society, has been rescheduled for Oct. 19. It was meant to be held Saturday.
A Spooks & Spokes Halloween Bike Ride scheduled for Saturday at Gateway Park has also been cancelled. Spooks and Spokes is a benefit for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Iowa.
