Each year at trees are tapped, sap is collected, and syrup is cooked in preparation for Maple Syrup Festival, which has become a spring tradition.
The two day event will be held on Saturday, March 3 and Sunday, March 4 at Hartman Reserve Nature Center (657 Reserve Drive, Cedar Falls) from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets at the door are $8 adult and $5 youth (3-12 years old, ages 2 and under free). Save $1 per ticket when purchased in advance February 1 through March 2. Tickets may be purchased at Hartman Reserve or by calling (319) 277-2187.

The Friends of Hartman Reserve’s Maple Syrup Festival features an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast with REAL maple syrup collected from Hartman Reserve’s maple trees, sausage, Starbucks coffee, and butter and milk, provided by . The event, sponsored by , will feature the flapjack flipping talents of Chris Cakes, live maple syrup processing demonstrations, and a raffle with great prizes; like a kayak from CrawDaddy Outdoors and bike from and the Cedar Valley Association for Soft Trails!
All proceeds from the event support Hartman Reserve’s mission: “Hartman Reserve Nature Center is dedicated to understanding our environment through education, recreation and community involvement and to the stewardship of a unique natural area.”
