The Highway Construction Careers Training Program (HCCTP) aims to increase the number of minorities, women and disadvantaged individuals working on Illinois Department of Transportation projects. A new session of the 13-week program begins Monday, Feb. 28.
The intensive training is 36 hours per week. Like apprenticeships in the building trades, the HCCTP is “earn while you learn.” There is no cost to students accepted into the program, and students selected for the Spring 2022 class will earn $10 per hour.
