Braley Has $1.1 Million in the Bank to Battle Lange in Congressional Race
Iowa's first district Congressman raised more than $440,000 in the second quarter, giving him over a million dollars to spend on the campaign.
Iowa Congressman Bruce Braley has $1.1 million in the bank.
The first district Democrat is raising money to combat Republican challenger Ben Lange, as Braley hopes to retain his seat in the House of Representatives this November.
Last week, he announced he had raised more than $440,000 for the campaign during the second quarter of 2012, from April 1 to June 30, placing his total funds at $1.1 million.

His campaign office said the money was raised from over 2700 Iowans.

Campaign reports for the April-to-June period are due to the Federal Election Commission by July 15. Neither Braley nor Lange have filed the actual reports, and Lange has not publicly released his figures.
As of May 16, Braley had raised almost $425,000 this year, and had just more than $804,000 on hand. Lange had raised almost $169,000 for the year, and had about the same amount on hand.
