Cedar Falls 20-Year Plan Drawing Concern of Some Residents

The Cedar Falls Comprehensive Plan will guide city development for the next 20 to 25 years.

A group of Cedar Falls citizens has organized to oppose the Cedar Falls Comprehensive Plan, a document that, according to the city's Currents newsletter, "is intended to guide development policies in the City for the next 20-25 years."

Led by Judd Saul and Logan Riley, the group, "Citizens Against the 2020 Plan" is meeting tonight, April 19, at the Pipac Center, 1521 Technology Parkway, at 6:30 p.m.

The plan had been slated for a public hearing at the April 23 city council meeting, but the hearing has been postponed, according to Mayor Jon Crews.

Instead, the council will hold a public hearing in a special meeting on May 9 at 7 p.m. Crews said they may vote to approve the plan at that meeting, or the council may decide to wait to vote, depending on what, if any, concerns are raised.

More information about the plan can be found here.
