Cedar Falls Man Run Over By Train in Waterloo

Police said no foul play is suspected in the death of Eli Alexander Ostby, 37, of Cedar Falls.

A Cedar Falls man has died after being run over by a train in Waterloo on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Eli Alexander Ostby, 37, has been identified by police as the man who died. Ostby walked into the moving train at the Lafayette Street crossing, The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reported, citing Waterloo police.

According to police, at approximately 12:30 p.m. today, police and fire were called to the train tracks behind the Residential Facility, 610 East Sixth St. in Waterloo on report of a subject run over by the train.
