Jesse James Arrested, Tasered Twice in Cedar Falls

Police said a Cedar Falls man was Tasered twice while being arrested after allegedly breaking into a 22nd Street apartment.

Police said officers were dispatched to a "prowler in progress" call at around 3 a.m. on May 2. Witnesses identified a man they said had been attempting to enter multiple apartments in the building.

Police were escorting the man, Jesse James Johnson, 20, of 1104--B W. 22nd St., to a police car when he allegedly attempted to break free from an officer in an attempt to flee. Police said they, "directed him to the ground," while he wrestled with them.

Police said one officer was injured during the struggle, and Johnson was Tasered twice.

A witness told police she had heard, "weird noises," outside the building, and that her boyfriend had shouted, "What's up?" out the window at Johnson. They told police they watched as Johnson, whom they told police seemed angry, attempted to enter their neighbor's door. Then he allegedly came into their residence.

The witness and her boyfriend said they ran to the basement, locked the door and called police. She told police Johnson had allegedly been throwing and kicking things before the police arrived.

According to police, Johnson had also tried to enter one other apartment unit, and the doorframe on a third apartment in the building was broken.

Johnson was arrested and charged with fourth degree criminal mischief, second-degree intoxication, interference/injury or weapon and criminal trespass.
