Cedar Falls Police: Alleged Video Game Theft Leads to High Speed Chase, Five Charges

 pursued and arrested a woman who allegedly led them on a high-speed chase Monday night.

Police said employees at , 525 Brandilynn Blvd., reported a theft at about 9:30 p.m. Employees reported a woman had stolen video games and other items from the store and gave a vehicle description and license plate number.

Police said officers saw the car traveling eastbound on Viking Road and attempted to stop the vehicle using lights and sirens. Instead of stopping, the driver allegedly sped, at high speed, south on Cedar Heights Drive and east on Ridegway Drive into Waterloo. The pursuit ended at the intersection of Ridgeway Avenue and Bellaire Road in Waterloo.

Police arrested Amy Joanne Loge, 20, of Waterloo, and charged her with:

1)     Theft in the third degree, an aggravated misdemeanor

2)      Eluding a law enforcement vehicle, an aggravated misdemeanor

3)      Driving while suspended

4)      Failure to stop for a stop sign

5)      Failure to stop for a red traffic light

Police said Loge was transported to Covenant Hospital for a complaint unrelated to the theft and pursuit. She was later released and transported to the Black Hawk County Jail.
