Cedar Falls Recreation Center 2013 Class Schedule: Keep Your Resolution to Get Fit

Want to keep your New Year's resolution? Check out these to January to April session classes at the Cedar Falls Recreation Center.

Want to stay fit in 2013? Check out these classes for the January to April session at the Cedar Falls Recreation Center.

You can purchase a four-month or one-month fitness pass to attend classes. You don't need to be a Rec Center member to buy a fitness pass, but four-month fitness passes are half price for members.

Sessions:

  • Session 1: January to April
  • Session 2: May to August
  • Session 3: September to December

Fees:

  • $85 for a 4-month Pass / $42.50 with Rec Center Membership.
  • $30 for a 1-month Pass / $25 with Rec Center Membership.
  • May not run into the next month.
  • Circuit Weight,Cardio Cycling, Body Pump, Rock On and Bellydancing are a separate cost and are pre-registered for monthly. A fitness pass is not required to sign up for these classes.
  • A daily pass may be purchased for $5.
  • This allows you a one-time tryout for any of the fitness pass classes.

Cardio Combo -
This early morning class is jam packed with a wide variety of exercises to raise your heart rate and kick starts your metabolism for the day.

Low Impact Aerobics -
This low impact class will safely increase all areas of fitness for the beginner or those looking for an “easy on the joints” workout. This class uses steps, hand weights, mats, tubes, stability balls, weighted bars and medicine balls.

Strength Fusion
-
A strength training and core conditioning class that can include BOSU Balls, Stability balls, hand weights, and body bars for a whole body workout.

Cardio Toning
-
This combination class contains both cardio and toning for those who enjoy this upbeat tempo. The instructor will offer a variety of both aspects of fitness, cardio and toning using balls, tubes, hand weights, medicine balls and bars.

Body Blast (Boot Camp) –
A high intensity blast for your body! This class incorporates all the essentials into one powerful workout. Come experience a blast your body won’t soon forget. 


Saturdays at the REC -
Saturdays are for all levels.
½ hour cycling and ½ hour strength.

  • Beginning in January, class time is 8:30am

Come and try one of the many types of yoga that the Cedar Falls Rec Center offers.

Zumba
All levels
Dance your way to a fitter you! New, exciting and unique Latin dance moves that target every muscle group.


Zumba Toning

Zumba Gold

The beginner’s level of aerobic dance which breaks down the intricate step work of Zumba Basic. It’s perfect for anyone just starting out in Zumba fitness!

Bollywood
A fun new workout that burns fat and tones your whole body.  Funk and Hip Hop fused with Bollywood beats, as seen in today's hottest Bollywood films. High-energy, great exercise. This class is for students with little or no background in dancing. Class starts with a basic warm up followed by choreography taught at a slow to medium pace.


Step/Interval

Step combinations in a cardio class that offers variety, intensity and energy. Includes cardio step with intervals of strength training with Kettlebells, weights and resistance bands.

Cardio Kickboxing

This intense aerobic exercise uses boxing techniques to target major muscle groups and is designed to raise the heart rate without the need for bags or gloves.

Extreme Work Out-

Body Pump 
Burn up to 600 calories per class, improve your strength and general fitness, shape and tone your muscles while improving bone density.  And best of all, come away feeling strong and confident.

  • Fee: $5.00/month with a membership or fitness pass

Belly Dancing

Zumbatomics – For Kids!

These classes are high-energy fitness-parties that offer real results. Packed with specifically choreographed routines and the latest music, like hip-hop, reggaeton and cumbia, classes increase focus and self-confidence, boost metabolism and improve coordination. More than just a great reason to head to the gym, Zumbatomic classes make getting fit a fun family experience too.
