Cedar Falls Weather Alert: Flash Flood Watch, Potential for Half Dollar Sized Hail

Heavy rain could be coming our way, and matched with saturated ground that could make for a dangerous combination according to the National Weather Service.

So you know all that wet stuff that's falling from the sky?

It looks like it might not have a good place to go, except into the streets, and heaven forbid, into basements.

Due to the soggy land and possible sustained pouring rain, along with potential thunderstorm activity including some hail, the National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch in parts of Eastern Iowa including Black Hawk County.

The watch is the result of heavy rain systems that are expected to move through the area tonight and again on Wednesday. The watch is in effect from 1 a.m. Wednesday through Wednesday afternoon.

The area is also under a hazardous weather outlook, which warns we could get half dollar-sized hail, along with the potential for snow or freezing rain as the temperature drops Wednesday night into Thursday.
