Cedar Falls Woman Allegedly Abused Kitten: 'Spiked Cat Like a Football'

arrested a woman they said was mistreating a kitten that belonged to her boyfriend.

According to police reports, officers were called to an assault in the 900 block of West 22nd Street, where they allegedly found Kali Marie Hubler, 19, of 7808 University Ave., along with another, unnamed person.

The defendant (Hubler) had a kitten in her hands, and when officers made contact, she spiked the cat on the pavement of a parking lot, like a football.

The kitten hid underneath a car nearby until officers picked it up... The kitten was white and gray; it was only about 2 to 3 months old. The kitten was very small, it could be held with one hand; the kitten appeared very fragile.

Hubler was arrested at 9:20 p.m. on June 9 and charged with cruelty to animals and consumption in public/intoxication. She could not be reached for comment.
