Daylight Savings: When is Sunrise and Sunset in Cedar Falls?

You're probably still getting used to that extra hour from when daylight savings ended.

But, with the hours of daylight dwindling and the clock changing, your internal clock may be a little off. The amount of daylight is decreasing pretty quickly.

Little ones may want to take a flashlight if walking to or from Cedar Heights, Hansen, Southdale, Orchard Hill, or another elementary school, depending on when they will be walking.

Here's what you need to know for sunrise, sunset and daylight hours in Cedar Falls.

First, the sun rose today at 6:48 a.m. and will set at 4:58 p.m. On Tuesday, it will rise at 6:50 a.m. and set at 4:57 p.m. Each day, the sun will rise roughly one minute per day later and set one minute per day earlier.

Sunrise will continue to get later until Jan. 1. when it rises at 7:40 a.m., the latest point in the season. Sunset gets earlier until Dec. 3, when it sets at 4:37 p.m., the earliest setting of the season.

There are actually four shortest days, even as sunrise and sunset times change. From Dec. 20 to Dec. 23, there will be nine hours and four minutes of daylight each day.
