A preview of what the Cedar Falls school board and city council will discuss at tonight's meetings.

The Board will approve plans and set public hearings for renovation projects for Southdale and Elementaries at tonight's school board meeting. Those renovations will follow in the footsteps of at and junior highs, which were completed just as this school year was starting.
Among other things, the board will hear financial reports on several district funds, approve a negotiated agreement with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, hear a report on professional learning communities and hear the mid-year superintendent evaluation. Superintendent David Stoakes is retiring in June.
Meanwhile, the Cedar Falls City Council will hold a hearing on a proposed resolution adopting and levying the final schedule of assessments for the 2011 Sidewalk Assessment Project, Zones 1 & 2. There will also be a public hearing on the proposed fiscal years 2012 to 2017 Capital Improvements Program (CIP).
