Elizabeth Smart Offers Message of Hope in Case of Missing Evansdale Cousins, Now Gone 3 Months

Smart, who was abducted when she was 14, was reunited with her family after nine months. Now 24, she spoke at a benefit for Blank Children’s Hospital’s Regional Child Protection Center.

“Children go missing, and it may seem impossible that they’ll ever come back,” Smart said. “But there are always exceptions to the rule.”
Her message came after a moment of silence for Elizabeth Collins and Lyric Cook-Morrissey, two Evansdale girls who went missing July 13. Saturday will mark three months since they disappeared.
