Girl in Critical Condition Following Car Crash on Jesup Road

Black Hawk County Deputies and other agencies responded to the crash on Friday.

A single-vehicle crash sent two to the hospital on Friday, including a girl who is stabilized in critical condition.

The accident occurred at about 7:27 p.m. on Friday on the 7100 block of Jesup Road.

The vehicle was driven by Danuilla Paulina Maye Heitmann, 34, of Dysert, and she had a juvenile boy and girl as passengers. The car was traveling north bound on Jesup Road when Heitmann lost control of the vehicle, went off the road and struck a tree, according to a news release from Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office.

The boy and girl have not been identified.

Heitmann was transported to Covenant Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while the girl was transported to Covenant by helicopter. She is stabilized in critical condition, according to the news release.

Deputies were assisted by Jesup Fire and Ambulance, Air Care, and a Buchanan
County Deputy.
