UPDATE: Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued; Hail, Tornados Possible In Black Hawk County

A severe thunderstorm watch has been added to a hazardous weather outlook and predictions that storms could continue through Memorial Day.

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Black Hawk County by the National Weather Service. This is an upgrade from a severe thunderstorm watch, which was issued earlier today. Hail and high winds are possible.

Damaging winds and scattered thunderstorms could hit Black Hawk County this afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service issued a hazardous weather outlook for 11 counties, including Winnebago, Worth, Hancock, Cerro Gordo, Wright, Franklin, Butler, Bremer, Hardin, Grundy and Black Hawk.

The report said quarter size hail and tornadoes are also possible.

Stormy weather could continue through the weekend with chances of thunderstorms through Memorial Day.
