Hansen's Wins The Title of Sweetest Ice Cream Peddler in Cedar Falls Readers' Choice

Well, Cedar Falls readers, you have spoken, and the message is this: You love your ice cream, and you love it local.

There were only four places on our for best place for ice cream. They were , , and . 4 Queens and Hansen's, the two places that are locally founded and owned, took the most votes by far.

In the end, Hansen's grabbed the title, but great comments were left in favor of both local ice cream vendors. Here are a few:

4 queens is sweet but Hansen's get's my vote. Great service and great ice cream. The Rocky Mt. Raspberry is top shelf, in my opinion.

4 queens and Hansens are both great places to get ice cream! I voted for 4 queens, because every time I take my daughter, at least one other patron makes eye contact, and smiles, and says "hi" to us. It is such a cheerful place on warm summer evenings! Or cool ones! But when I get in the car and want to bring home a treat for my family, I will get a pint - or a quart - at Hansen's.

I voted for 4 Queens. I do like Hansens but am much closer to 4 Queens. We don't keep ice cream in the house often and I enjoy the variety of things I can get. Such as a crunch cone or an orange vanilla twist.

I voted for Hansen's because the service there is always fast and friendly! They have many different (delicious!) flavors of ice cream -- the peach soft serve is my favorite!!
