The bill as it now stands is less than the Senate originally asked for, which would have increased UNI's funding by $8.2 million, but significantly more than the House's original plan, which would have decreased funding by $3 million.

The University of Iowa and Iowa State University would receive more modest increases under the bill. They would each get a 3.2 percent increase in funding, compared to UNI's 8.5 percent increase.
