International Education Week Bringing Cross-Cultural Food, Fashion, Music and More to UNI
Activities include a cultural clothing fashion show, information sessions, presentations, movies, musical and dance lessons and performances, international food tasting and more.

The University of Northern Iowa will celebrate International Education Week (IEW) Monday, Nov. 12 through Friday, Nov. 16 with events hosted through UNI's Office of International Programs, Study Abroad Center, Culture and Intensive English Program, the International Students and Scholars Office and other UNI departments and student organizations.
Activities include a cultural clothing fashion show, information sessions, presentations, movies, musical and dance lessons and performances, international food tasting and more. The third-annual IEW kickoff will be from noon to 1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 12, in the Maucker Union Ballroom, with welcome remarks from Gloria Gibson, UNI's executive vice president and provost. All events are free and open to the public.

IEW is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of their efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn and share experiences in the United States. The theme for this year's IEW is "Striving for a Healthier Future Worldwide."
