Job Fair for Former PFG, myVerona Employees Being Held Today

On Tuesday, July 31 from 1 to 3 p.m., the Greater Cedar Valley Alliance and Chamber (GCVAC) will host a job fair for former PFG and employees looking for new positions.  This fair, a part of the GCVAC’s emerging “Cedar Valley Talent Connect” program, will feature approximately fifteen, local employers and will be held at 1025 Technology Parkway in Cedar Falls, next to the TEAM Technologies building.           

Displaced workers with an interest in careers in childcare, customer service, food service, and maintenance will be the focus of this event. Additional elements of the “Cedar Valley Talent Connect” programs will soon be unveiled to serve former employees with sales, finance, and information technology backgrounds.  The GCVAC is partnering with Cedar Valley IowaWORKS to make direct connections with as many, former PFG employees as possible. 

“This is a prime opportunity for Cedar Valley area employers to match their current openings to very well-trained, immediately available local talent. With the number of “help wanted” signs, ads and appeals I see, this initial pilot use of Cedar Valley Talent Connect should be a productive process for talent and our economic area,” said Steve Dust, CEO of GCVAC. “Brittany Jungck and our entire Economic Development team, along with our partners at IowaWORKS and the Rapid Response team are committed to making unemployment a short-lived condition for former PFG group employees,” Dust concluded.
