Man Connected to Heroin Sales, Fatal Overdose, in Black Hawk County Could Get Life in Prison

Lewis Bolden was arrested following on overdose death of a Waterloo man in 2011. He pleaded guilty to a single count of conspiracy to distribute heroin.

A Waterloo man connected to heroin sales in Black Hawk County and a fatal drug overdose last year has pleaded guilty to a single count of conspiracy to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin, while having a prior felony drug conviction.

Lewis Bolden, 45, now faces up to life in prison and a fine of up to $8 million when he is sentenced.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports, citing allegations from authorities and court records, that Bolden was part of an agreement to distribute heroin from 2007 to 2011, and that Wilson-Bey supplied the crack cocaine and heroin that contributed to Phillips' death.
