Man Convicted of Stealing $18K From UNI Ticketing Operation Gets Probation

John David Gogola, 44, of Cedar Falls, pleaded guilty to the crime.

A man convicted of stealing more than $18,000 from UNItix, the ticketing operation, was given probation in Black Hawk County court today.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reported judge Andrea Dyer sentenced John David Gogola, 44, to 10 years in prison but suspended the sentence to two to five years probation.

He must also pay $18,000 in restitution for the money taken and reimburse the state an additional $27,000 for expenses related to the case.

Gogola was arrested last year after auditors discovered the missing funds. He had been working at UNItix when the money went missing, and he pleaded guilty to the theft.
