Medical Examiner Confirms Bodies Are Missing Evansdale Cousins, Lyric and Elizabeth
Hunters found two bodies in a rural park in Bremer County last week. Today, authorities confirmed the bodies are the two missing girls from Evansdale.

Authorities confirmed Monday that two bodies found in the Seven Bridges Wilderness Area in Bremer County on Dec. 5 are Elizabeth Collins, 9, and Lyric Cook-Morrissey, 11, of Evansdale.
The girls disappeared while riding their bikes near Meyers Lake on July 13.
The bodies were sent to the medical examiner's office in Ankeny for forensic identification and autopsies. Authorities had said they were confident the bodies were the girls, but they said they could not provide positive confirmation until the autopsies were complete.

No further information gathered during the autopsies was released.
Authorities last week said they are leaning toward considering the case a homicide investigation.

The public's help is still being sought in the investigation, with a $150,000 reward available for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case.
