Michelle Obama Coming to Cedar Falls Friday

The first lady will stump for her husband as the campaigns get ready to head into the last month before the election.

Michelle Obama will be in Cedar Falls Friday.

The first lady will speak on the University of Northern Iowa campus on Sept. 28 at the McLeod Center, 2501 Hudson Road.

It will be her second visit to the state this month, after she joined husband President Barack Obama in Iowa City in early Sept. Both Barack Obama and his opponent Republican Mitt Romney have made Iowa their stomping groups, with several visits each as the general election approaches.

The First Lady will speak about what’s at stake in this election for Iowans, encourage them to help organize their communities between now and November and promote voter registration and voting through GottaVote.com.  And, as part of the campaign’s It Takes One effort, the First Lady will ask every supporter to help grow Obama for America’s national grassroots network.

The event is free and open to the public. Obama's speaking time was not released. Tickets are required due to limited space, and will be available to the public starting on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tickets are available on Tuesday, Sept. 25, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and if tickets are still remaining, on Wed., Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, Sept. 27 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
